Roberto Mancini has dismissed questions over the allegations surrounding his Manchester City contract, insisting the issue is not his concern after an independent commission found the club guilty of the vast majority of the Premier League charges against them.
The former City manager was asked about the case at a press conference in Turkey ahead of Italy’s Nations League meeting with Türkiye on Monday, particularly the allegation that he received part of his remuneration through a separate consultancy agreement.
Mancini rejected the premise that City had been found guilty and said the issue had been circulating for several years.
“I don’t think Manchester City were found guilty, quite the opposite. It’s not a problem that concerns me, and it isn’t anything new.”
Asked specifically about the alleged double contract, Mancini added: “It’s not my problem, theirs if anything.”

The allegations relate to the period when Mancini managed City between 2009 and 2013. The Premier League charges include 14 alleged failures to provide accurate details concerning payments to players and managers between the 2009-10 and 2017-18 seasons.
Mancini led City to the FA Cup in 2011 before delivering their first top-flight title in 44 years the following season.
The alleged arrangement involving Mancini was previously reported by Der Spiegel, which claimed that part of his remuneration came through a consultancy contract with Abu Dhabi club Al Jazira. Mancini’s comments come after the independent commission’s verdict was reported on Friday.
City were found guilty of 114 of the 115 charges, although the club maintains that the Premier League process remains ongoing and has reiterated its intention to challenge the findings. Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said on Saturday that City’s “confidence and intent” to prove the club’s innocence remained unchanged.
Potential sanctions have yet to be determined, while other Premier League clubs are seeking legal advice over possible compensation claims.
Mancini, meanwhile, has made clear that he does not regard the controversy surrounding his former club as an issue that concerns him personally.
