Man Utd willing to let 13 players leave to raise funds for Ten Hag’s rebuild

Manchester United are reportedly willing to let 13 players leave this summer to help raise funds for the club’s own summer spending spree.

United spent over £200 million last summer as Erik ten Hag brought in Antony, Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia and Christian Eriksen, though despite finishing third in the Premier League and ending their six-year trophy drought, there is still plenty more surgery required within their squad.

Manchester United allowed Cristiano Ronaldo leave last November following a turbulent start to the season, with Wout Weghorst being brought in on loan in January to cover the Portuguese’s loss.

While the Dutchman showed plenty of desire and work rate, it didn’t really work out for him at Old Trafford, with a new centre-forward the very top priority for the Red Devils.

United have been linked with Harry Kane, but have baulked at Spurs‘ £100m asking price, with Rasmus Hojlund and Randal Kolo Muani among the alternatives.

United have also been in talks with Chelsea over a deal for Mason Mount, while they have made contact with Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana amid uncertainty over David de Gea’s future.

According to the Mail, Manchester United’s current budget is around £120m, and they are looking to bolster that with player sales, and would be willing to sanction the sales of up to 13 players this summer.

They say that Donny van de Beek, Fred and Anthony Elanga are all ‘for sale’ for around £20 million each, while they are also looking to cash in on Alex Telles (£10m), Brandon Williams (£5m) and Eric Bailly (£2m).

Meanwhile, the report says that Manchester United would be ‘willing to listen to offers’ for Harry Maguire (£40m), Scott McTominay (£40m) and Dean Henderson (£20m), while Jadon Sancho (£45m) and Anthony Martial (£25m) would also be allowed to leave.

Maguire and McTominay have both been linked to West Ham in recent weeks, while Spurs have been linked with an interest in Sancho.

Youngster Hannibal Mejbri – recently linked to Borussia Dortmund – could also be allowed to leave for around £13m, while Zidane Iqbal has already announced his departure ahead of an expected £850,000 move to Dutch side Utrecht.
