Manchester United to raid Chelsea again with shock £90m move?

Manchester United are being linked with another shock raid on Chelsea, with a £90m move for Eden Hazard.

United have already added £77.5m to Chelsea’s coffers over the last few years after signing Juan Mata for £37.5m in 2014, before signing Nemanja Matic last summer for a further £40m. The latter move is believed to have caused much frustration at Stamford Bridge, with several members of the management team not wanting to sell the key player to a Premier League rival.

The Res Devils have also been linked with having an interest in Chelsea winger Willian, with the Brazilian not a guaranteed starter in the Blues’ first team.

However, according to the Sun today, Jose Mourinho is keen to be reunited with Belgian playmaker, Eden Hazard. The newspaper claims that he is preparing a £90m move for the wide man.

Hazard has already turned down a mega money contract, believed to be worth in the order of £300,000-a-week, and has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid. However, it is claimed that Jose Mourinho sees Hazard as the missing piece to his jigsaw and will try to lure him to a Old Trafford next summer in what would be a British record transfer deal.

Personally though, we cannot see this deal happening for a number of reasons. Firstly, Chelsea would be unwilling to sell their star player to Manchester United again, unless the player hands in a transfer request. He has already expressed his interest if playing under his boyhood idol, Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid.

Secondly, with the transfer market like it is, £90m doesn’t seem like a high enough price for a player of Hazards calibre. And finally, despite having won the title under Mourinho in 2015, Hazard is believed to be one of the players to have fallen out with the Portuguese boss in the following season, a season which saw the Blues finish 10th in the Premier League.
