Manchester United are ready to increase their offer for Alvaro Morata according to reports today.
The Guardian claim that United will send an improved ยฃ60million offer for the Spain International after they opening offer was rejected.
That opening offer is believed have been for around ยฃ52m, with reports suggesting that the newly crowned Champions of Europe are holding out for around ยฃ78m.
The report suggests that United are confident of securing a deal for less than that, especially considering that Real Madrid only paid ยฃ30million to re-sign the striker just 12 months ago from Juventus.
Since his return to the Bernabeu, the 24-year-old has played second fiddle to Karim Benzema as the club’s main striker, but has still managed a goal every 87 minutes to finish the season as the club’s second highest scorer behind Cristiano Ronaldo with 20 goals.
However with another World Cup on the horizon, Morata is keen to achieve regular game time to help secure his place within the Spanish national squad in Russia next summer.
