Manchester United are being linked with a surprise move for former player, Jonny Evans in January.
The Northern Ireland international was heavily linked with a transfer back in the summer, with Manchester City and Arsenal both linked with having an interest in his services. Despite a reported £20m+ move, West Bromwich Albion refused to sell.
Both clubs, as well as big spending Everton, are believed to be still interested in signing the 29-year-old in the upcoming January transfer market.
However, reports in today’s Sunday Mirror claim that Manchester United could be interested in trying to re-sign the defender, two-and-a-half years after he was sold for around £6m.
Jose Mourinho believes that the decision to let Evans go, made by his predecessor Louis van Gaal, was one of a number of incorrect transfer decisions, having already spoken about the decision to allow Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck to leave the club.
Mourinho is prepared to fight Manchester City and Arsenal for the United Academy product’s services, especially following the news that Eric Bailly is set to face three months on the sidelines with an ankle injury.
