Boost for Manchester United as three players return to training

Manchester United have been handed a triple injury boost ahead of their trip to Sheffield United this weekend with three players returning to full training.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side return to Premier League action this weekend with a trip to face Chris Wilder’s high-flying side at Bramall Lane on Sunday, Sheffield United currently sitting fifth in the division after an impressive start following promotion from the Championship last season.

Seventh-placed Manchester United can move above their opponents with victory this weekend, and their hopes have been boosted by the return to fitness of a trio of senior players over the past week.

Left-back Luke Shaw has rejoined the club’s main group for training as he steps up his recovery from a hamstring injury that has sidelined him since the defeat to Crystal Palace in August.

Fellow defender Axel Tuanzebe has also returned to training, having not played since being a late withdrawal for the draw with Liverpool last month.

According to the club’s official website, Nemanja Matic could also return this weekend, in what could prove a welcome boost following the ankle injury suffered by Scott McTominay against Brighton.

McTominay was replaced the in 3-1 win prior to the international break and subsequently missed Scotland’s fixtures with Cyprus and Kazakhstan, the 22-year-old expected to be out until December.
