Sporting Lisbon star Bruno Fernandes has admitted he wants a move to the Premier League.
The attacking midfielder has attracted interest from a host of clubs following a prolific season in the Portuguese capital, with Manchester United having been heavily linked with a big-money move.
The 24-year-old – who has also been linked with the likes of Man City, Liverpool and Spurs this summer – admitted that his future will be decided by the Lisbon side, though has revealed that his personal preference is for a move to English football.
“I don’t care about the market, I’ve said this many times,” Fernandes said ahead of Sporting’s pre-season friendly against Liverpool in the USA.
“The only thing I can do now is that I need to catch the plane so I don’t miss it. Will this be the last match for Sporting? I don’t know, it’s the coach who decides.
“I told I’d like to play in England, but I don’t care about it right now.
“If it could be this season? It could be when the club decides, I’m not in charge.”
