Manchester United are ready to hand Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a £250m transfer war chest as he looks to strengthen his squad this summer.
The former United forward was appointed as the club’s permanent manager last month, after enjoying a successful spell as caretaker manager.
Results have dipped in recent weeks, with Tuesday night’s 3-0 defeat at Barcelona eliminating United from the Champions League and the club are set for another season without silverware.
According to the Mirror the United hierarchy are now ready to back Solskjaer in the coming transfer window, with a budget of £250m set aside for player recruitment.
United are keen to strengthen in a variety of positions, with central defence remaining a priority. Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld has strongly been linked with a move to Old Trafford, and due to a contract clause is available for a cut-price fee of just £25m this summer.
Solskjaer is also believed to be keen on moves for several of Europe’s finest young talents, with Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho, Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ajax star Matthijs de Ligt all being monitored.
Crystal Palace youngster Aaron Wan-Bissaka is also reportedly a target after a fine season for Roy Hodgson’s side, with United keen to strengthen at right-back with Antonio Valencia and Matteo Darmian set to leave the club this summer.
