Manchester United ‘send scouts’ to watch Brazil star Everton

Manchester United are apparently tracking Brazil star, Everton.

The Gremio forward starred in Brazil’s victorious Copa America campaign this summer, opening the scoring in the 3-1 final victory over Peru and finishing as the tournament’s top scorer with three goals.

A host of Europe’s top clubs are believed to be monitoring the 23-year-old, who looks set to leave his homeland this summer, with Manchester United reported to be amongst those to have scouted the player throughout the Copa America.

Everton’s impressive performances are said to have attracted Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, who could look to add to their attacking options with doubts surrounding the future of Romelu Lukaku.

According to Brazilian journalist Farid Germano, courtesy of the guys over at Sport Witness, United will face competition with Bayern Munich reported to be preparing a bid for the forward, whilst AC Milan have also submitted a proposal to take Everton to Serie A. Man City have also been linked.

United are said to have watched Everton during Gremio’s cup game with Bahia on Wednesday, with the forward scoring in a 1-1 draw following his return from international duty.

Everton’s release clause stands at £72 million, although Gremio have said that it will take a club record fee to sign the forward, with their record departure currently Arthur’s £27m move to Barcelona.
