Manchester United are ready to revisit a deal for Newcastle United defender Lewis Hall next summer as the club look to solve their left-back issues.
The club’s left-back position is again in the spotlight with Luke Shaw and Ayden Heaven out through injury and illness. Diogo Dalot deputised against Leeds at the weekend, while academy product Harry Amass is with the squad for tonight’s Champions League clash with Como.
Another potential left-back option, Lisandro Martinez, is out of contract in 2027 and has been in the headlines of late, after criticising the club’s direction.
United saw an approach for Hall turned down in the summer, with the 22-year-old signing a new contract at Newcastle last month. However, that has not put off the Red Devils who are readying a fresh approach next summer.
According to the iPaper, United are ready to bide their time to land Hall and are confident a deal can be done with a Newcastle side in transition.
The club are also long-term admirers of Bournemouth’s Adrien Truffert, who returned to the senior France squad during the recent internationals. Truffert is a genuine alternative to Hall and is expected to leave the south coast at the end of the season. Liverpool have also been linked.
