Manchester United have apparently progressed talks with Lille regarding the signing of Nicolas Pepe.
The forward has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs this summer, including Arsenal, Liverpool and Everton, following his fine season for the French side.
The Ivory Coast international scored 22 goals last season, helping Lille to a second-place finish behind PSG and was named in the Ligue 1 team of the year.
Now, according to the Times, Manchester United have ‘progressed discussions’ regarding the transfer of the 24-year-old.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to implement a more dynamic, pressing style of football at Old Trafford this season, and Pepe could ultimately prove to be a more suitable player to Romelu Lukaku, who is being heavily linked with a move to Inter Milan.
Pepe, who is capable of playing across the front line, is thought to be valued at £70 million, with Lille having already admitted he would be sold this summer.
