Manchester United are preparing a bid for Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojland as the club look to sign a centre-forward this summer.
Erik ten Hag is keen to reinforce his forward line and Hojland has emerged as the club’s leading transfer target, following an impressive debut campaign in Italy.
Hojland scored 10 goals in all competitions for Atalanta last season and is viewed as a player with huge potential, having also made an excellent start to his international career with six goals in six appearances for Denmark.
The 20-year-old is valued at around £50m and the Telegraph are reporting that Manchester United are preparing to lodge a bid.
United completed their first signing of the summer after confirming the £60m arrival of Mason Mount from Chelsea and are continuing to work on a deal for Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana.
The Red Devils are working on a restricted transfer budget this summer due to Financial Fair Play rules and the uncertainty surrounding the club’s takeover situation. The pursuit of Hojland ‘might have to wait’ until a resolution is found regarding the ownership, unless additional funds can be generated through sales.
United will consider offers for Harry Maguire, Jadon Sancho, Fred, Scott McTominay and Antony Martial this summer, while Alex Telles, Anthony Elanga and Eric Bailly are also free to leave Old Trafford if suitable bids arrive.
