Manchester United are eyeing Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford as a potential replacement for David de Gea according to reports this morning.
United have been desperately trying to tie the Spanish goalkeeper down to a new contract, with his current deal set to expire in the summer, although Manchester United do have an option to extend it by a further year.
Despite reports saying De Gea is happy at Old Trafford, the clubs current woes which see them sitting in eighth in the Premier League could see the 28-year-old seeking pastures new, with Juventus thought to be interested.
As his contract situation rumbles on, the Sun claim that United are already looking at alternatives should their current number one leave, and they are targetting Everton goalkeeper, Jordan Pickford.
Pickford made a ยฃ30million move to Goodison Park from Sunderland in 2017, following the Black Cats relegation from the Premier League. Since then, he has seen his stock continue to rise, ousting Joe Hart as England’s undisputed number 1.
The 24-year-old only signed a new long-term contract at Everton in the summer, with the Toffees likely to put up stiff resistance to any interest in his services.
