Manchester United not interested in Aurier

Manchester United are not interested in signing Serge Aurier, sensational reports claim.

Contrary to reports which suggested that the 24-year-old Paris Saint-Germain full back had agreed terms with Man Utd, reports from France reveals that the Manchester club is not interested in signing the wantaway Ivorian.

L’Equipe reported yesterday that Jose Mourinho is more concerned with finalising the Ivan Perisic deal than attempting to sign a player who is blocked from entering the UK after assaulting a police officer in France.

Aurier has been training alone since making clear his intentions to Unai Emery, the PSG coach. Last week Emery confirmed that Serge Aurier had handed in a transfer request.

“I’ve spoken with Serge to tell him I wanted him to stay here and continue with us,

“He told me that he wanted to leave and that he wanted to stay in Paris to prepare for going.”

So far no club has yet tabled an offer for the full back, but he won’t be short of potential suitors once his appeal has been accepted in the courts. The versatile defender can play at right back or centre back, giving options to whomever lucky to sign him. A figure of £27 million has been mooted.

However José Mourinho is not interested as he looks to bolster his attacking options despite having the likes of Marcus Rashford, Mata, Martial and Mkhitaryan. Man Utd continue to pursue the signature of Inter Milan hotshot Ivan Perisic in what has been one of the longest transfer saga’sthis summer.

Mourinho’s admiration for the Croatian winger has been well documented but it remains to be seen whether he does get his man or Inter Milan hold on to their prized asset. Recently Spalleti, the Inter Milan manager warned Manchester United that time was running out.

“The more days that go by, the more difficult it becomes for us to replace him and therefore I would strongly oppose his departure,” he told inter.it the official website of Inter Milan.
