Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic has said that Anthony Martial has the potential to be one of the best players in the Premier League, although he isn’t sure if the Frenchman realises how good he can be.
Martial is one of the form players in the Premier League right now, scoring four goals in his last three league games, as he finally looks to be showing the kind of form that he showed in his debut season at Manchester United.
Speaking about the United number 11, former Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic has said that the winger just needs to be more confident in his abilities, which could help him become one of the best in the division.
“Anthony is a great player and he needs to understand that. He needs more confidence,” Matic told the Independent.
“He is still young and I think if he continues to score in the next game he will get that.
“If he reaches his top level he can be one of the best players in the league for sure.
“Sometimes I don’t think he understands how good he is, he has everything that a Manchester United football player needs.
“Sometimes I don’t think he understands that. If I had his ability with the ball and I was as quick as him then I wouldn’t pass to anyone and I would score every game.”
However, while everyone has been purring over Martial’s last three performances, Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher remain to be convinced.
