Jose Mourinho has said that he will put a team out that has the potential to beat Liverpool on Sunday afternoon, despite him having ‘doubts about everything’.
Manchester United have had a disastrous season so far, sitting down in sixth in the Premier League, and well out of contention for the Champions League places.
To rub salt in the wounds of United fans, they are having to watch as two of their biggest rivals, Liverpool and Manchester City, challenge for the title, as well as playing some fine football.
However, with United travelling to Anfield this weekend to take on the league leaders, Jose Mourinho has said he is ‘going to try’ to win.
“I’m going to try, I’m going to try, I always try and I want to play a team that is capable to be with me on that desire and on that ambition and on that confidence,” Mourinho said in his pre-match press conference.
“We know that we are going to play against the leader [Liverpool], against a team in a high, but we have our qualities, we have our potential.
“Even with the problems we have and the doubts in terms of team choice, of tactics, approach, philosophy, we have doubts about everything.
“We are going to arrive with the players we have available and going to have a team capable of going there and fight for the victory.”
