Manchester United injury news with Casemiro out

An inconsistent start to the campaign has seen Manchester United suffer both on and off the pitch.

Despite a dramatic victory against Brentford last time out, the Red Devils have put in some subpar performances, which haven’t been helped by an extensive injury list.

Manchester United injury news ahead of facing Sheffield United.

Another addition to the absentees comes in the form of Casemiro, a casualty of the international break.

The Brazilian was substituted after just 11 minutes against Venezuela, whilst playing for his national team.

However, the midfielder went on to play the entirety of his country’s 2-0 defeat to Uruguay on Wednesday, but has stayed in Brazil to deal with the issue, having seemingly aggravated the problem further.

Raphael Varane

Having missed United’s last match with a ‘minor’ knock, Raphael Varane looks set to return to the squad this weekend, as the Red Devils take on Sheffield United.

The defender was spotted in training this week, providing some positivity for United fans.

Sergio Reguilon

The Spaniard has impressed at Old Trafford. after joining from Tottenham Hotspur this summer on a loan deal.

The left-back has missed the past few matches with a hamstring issue, but trained with the squad this week, and is set to return ahead of the trip to Sheffield.

Lisandro Martinez

The World Cup winner continues to recover from surgery on his foot, an issue the Argentine has dealt with for numerous months.

The hope is to have the defender back in the squad by the New Year.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Ten Hag’s defensive woes continue, with yet another full-back on the sidelines for an extended period.

After causing damage to his hamstring during United’s home loss to Brighton on September 16, the defender has been absent ever since.

The next international break is seen as a potential return date for Wan-Bissaka.

Luke Shaw

The England left-back is yet to return to training after picking up a muscle problem early on this season.

Like Wan-Bissaka, Shaw will be targeting next month as his goal for return.

Tyrell Malacia

United haven’t disclosed the nature of the Dutchman’s issue, but a reported knee injury has stunted Malacia’s development at Old Trafford.

After missing pre-season, the defender faces a battle to return to fitness before the New Year.

Amad Diallo and Kobbie Mainoo

Both Diallo and Mainoo suffered setbacks in pre-season, preventing their push for a place in the Manchester United starting eleven.

However, both players are recovering well and are expected to return to the squad in the next few weeks.
