Manchester United goalkeeper set for Celta Vigo loan

Manchester United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir is set to join Celta Vigo on loan.

Manchester United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir is set to join Celta Vigo on loan.

The Spanish side have agreed a deal to sign Bayindir on an initial season-long loan deal, with an option to purchase the 28-year-old for a fee of €4m. The fee could rise depending on Bayindir’s number of appearances this season.

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Bayindir has been granted permission to travel to Spain to undergo a medical and complete the move.

The goalkeeper had been keen to leave Manchester United this summer in search of regular first-team football, having made only 10 Premier League appearances across his two seasons at Old Trafford.

Bayindir failed to win favour ahead of either Andre Onana or Senne Lammens, following the latter’s arrival as number one last summer.

United have signed former Leeds United goalkeeper Karl Darlow as a free agent to provide competition and cover for Lammens this season, while veteran Tom Heaton has signed a contract extension.
