Napoli and Juventus are among the clubs considering a move for Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee before the transfer deadline.
The Dutchman has struggled to make an impact in the Premier League since his £36m arrival from Bologna in 2024.
Zirkzee has scored only five Premier League goals across his two seasons at Old Trafford, and started just five league games last season. Despite a positive pre-season, Zirkzee could leave before the September 1st deadline with Napoli and Juventus watching his situation.
Napoli have Zirkzee on their striker shortlist, report Sky Italy, with the Italians keen to bring in competition for former Manchester United forward Rasmus Hojlund. Max Allegri’s side are also monitoring Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus and Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson.
Another ex-United frontman, Romelu Lukaku, has left Napoli this summer, while Lorenzo Lucca and Noa Lang are also expected to depart.
Zirkzee impressed in Serie A, prior to his move to the Premier League. The 25-year-old scored 13 league goals for Bologna in 2023/24 to win Serie A’s Young Player of the Year award.
Should he depart, it could free room for Manchester United to sign another forward. The Red Devils are interested in signing an experienced number nine to alleviate the expectation on Benjamin Sesko.
