Manchester United eye up FOUR left footed players

Manchester United are looking at four left footed players as the January transfer window approaches, according to reports this morning.

The Manchester Evening News are reporting that Jose Mourinho is looking at four left footed stars to add to his squad in either January or next summer, with an emphasis on further improving Manchester United’s attacking options.

After starting the season in fine form, regularly scoring four goals past their opponents, the goals have seemingly dried up over the last few months, with only Newcastle United being out to the sword in recent times.

As Mourinho looks to improve the firepower within his squad, the report claims that he is targeting Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann, Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale and Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil to improve the teams creativity and goalscoring options.

United are in need of player who can play as a right winger, and could also do with a new ‘number 10’, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan out of form and Juan Mata earning a paltry 4/10 in our Player Ratings for his performance against Brighton at the weekend. All three of Bale, Griezmann and Özil would fit that bill of being able to play in the number 10 role as well as out on the right of midfield.

He is also keen on landing Tottenham left back Danny Rose as he looks to finally secure his problematic left back position. 32-year-old Ashley Young has been the club’s first choice left back in recent weeks, with Luke Shaw, Matteo Darmian and Daley Blind seemingly not fancied by the Portuguese, and likely to be allowed to leave the club in the near future.

Rose has made no secret of his desire to leave Tottenham and move back up to the North of England to be closer to his family, while also slamming the club’s wage structure and transfer policy in a controversial interview last summer.

He has recently been dropped from the Spurs side, prompting speculation of a rift with Mauricio Pochettino.
