Manchester United defender Ayden Heaven is set to turn down an international approach from Ghana with the teenager keen to represent England.
Ghana are monitoring the performances of the 19-year-old, who qualifies to represent the nation through a grandparent.
The Black Stars had hoped to persuade Heaven to represent them at international level, in a similar fashion to how London-born Antoine Semenyo represents the national team.
However, according to BBC journalist Simon Stone, Heaven has ambitions of playing for England and has represented England up to u-20 level.
The centre-back impressed during Manchester United’s 1-0 win over Newcastle on Friday night, earning the man of the match accolade in just his fifth Premier League start.
Ayden Heaven won 100% of his duels, completed 94% of his passes, made 8 clearances and committed 0 fouls in Man United’s 1-0 victory against Newcastle.

In addition to Heaven, Ghana are ready to renew efforts to convince Crystal Palace striker Eddie Nketiah to join the ranks.
Nketiah has previously turned down Ghanian approaches in favour of England, but has earned just one friendly cap for the Three Lions in 2023. Given that appearance came in a non-competitive fixture, he remains eligible for Ghana and is reportedly open to the switch.
