Following a five-game drought without a win, they beat Lecce right before the break but then fell 2-5 to Inter Milan. This shaky run dropped them from the top four; they’re now sixth with 54 points, trailing fourth-place Como by four.

Manager Gasperini must navigate the absence of his primary forward line, as Paulo Dybala remains out following knee surgery. At the same time, Artem Dovbyk and Evan Ferguson are sidelined with hamstring and ankle issues respectively.
The defensive unit has also taken a hit; Gianluca Mancini is expected to miss two to three weeks due to an adductor injury suffered against Inter Milan, likely opening the door for Daniele Ghilardi to start.
On a more positive note, midfielder Manu Kone and wing-back Wesley are nearing full fitness and could feature in the squad.
