Manchester United are closing in on the signing of Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata.

Last week, we brought you news that Morata had already agreed personal terms with Manchester United, with the clubs trying to finalise a price.

While the clubs still haven’t agreed a fee, the Daily Mirror claim that the player could make the move to Old Trafford early next week.

United saw their initial £52m offer rejected as Real wanted £78m. The Red Devil’s returned with a £60m with the deal most likely being worth around £65m.

Reports in Spain claim that Morata could complete a medical this weekend with the transfer to be announced as early as Monday.

The transfer market doesn’t officially open until 1st July, but once the deal for Morata is complete, United will have already spent a staggering £96m following the signing of Victor Lindelof from Benfica.

It is believed that Jose Mourinho has also instructed Ed Woodward to sign a new central midfielder and a creative winger.
