Manchester United and Arsenal have joined the list of clubs interested in signing Eintracht Frankfurt defender Nathaniel Brown.

The 22-year-old broke into the Eintracht Frankfurt team last season and his rapid progress led to a Germany debut during October’s internationals.

The left-back, who was born in Germany to an American father and German mother, leads the Bundesliga for tackles won this season. Last campaign, no player tackled a higher percentage of dribblers faced (80%) than Brown across Germany’s top division.

According to German outlet BILD, English clubs have now joined Real Madrid in expressing interest. Manchester United and Arsenal are both admirers of Brown, who has featured in a number of left-sided roles this season.

United signed Patrick Dorgu in last season’s January window but the Dane is yet to convince all at Old Trafford. The arrival of Brown would provide a new option, with Luke Shaw used primarily in a back three under Ruben Amorim. United will also lose wing-back options Amad Diallo and Noussair Mazraoui to Africa Cup of Nations duty later this month.

Arsenal are well-stocked defensively, with Riccardo Calafiori and Myles Lewis-Skelly options at left-back, though the latter spent much of his time in the academy in midfield.
