Premier League rivals Manchester United and Arsenal are both interested in signing Hertha Berlin midfielder Arne Maier according to reports.
The 19-year-old Germany U21 international has been earning rave reviews in the Bundesliga since making his first-team debut last season.
So impressive has Maiers passing and deep-lying playmaking ability been that he is being likened to Real Madrid metronome Toni Kroos in his homeland.
According to German publication Bild, Manchester United and Arsenal are both said to be monitoring the highly-rated midfielder closely.
Defensive midfielder Maier has been played every minute of all of Hertha Berlin’s games so far this season, with his excellent showings in the middle of the park a key part of the German side starting the campaign strongly and currently sitting in fourth place in the Bundesliga table.
