Manchester United agree €11m fee for winger

Manchester United have agreed an €11m fee with La Liga club Real Sociedad for winger Adnan Januzaj.

According to France Football Manchester United have agreed a deal to sell the player once thought to be one of the brightest emerging talents in world football.

Januzaj made a phenomenal breakthrough at Old Trafford back in 2012/13, the first season following the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson. Despite David Moyes’ struggles, Januzaj was one of the only shining lights in a miserable season.

He was rewarded with the famous number 11 shirt the following season, but sadly for him, this is where things started to go wrong. He was tried in a number of different positions by new boss Louis van Gaal but failed to replicate his previous seasons’ form.

The following year he was loaned out to Borussia Dortmund, but the Bundesliga giants ended that deal early with doubts surrounding the wingers attitude.

Jose Mourinho also loaned out Januzaj last season, giving him the chance to reunite with David Moyes and impress in the Premier League at Sunderland. However once again, he failed to take the opportunity.

Mourinho has now decided that the 22-year-old is no longer part of his plans and has agreed a deal worth £9.7m to let Januzaj move to Real Sociedad, interestingly, the same club that David Moyes moved to following his Old Trafford exit.

Man Utd are believed to be including a sell-on clause, as well as a buy-back clause in the deal, just in case he does eventually fulfil his potential.

Personal terms are still being finalised.
