Manchester United eye up 26-year-old Brazilian as Michael Carrick replacement

Manchester United are eyeing up a potential move for Napoli’s Brazilian midfielder Jorginho according to reports.

United boss Jose Mourinho is on the look out for a replacement for club captain Michael Carrick, who has been limited to just one appearance this season due to medical issues, with speculation that the 36-year-old could retire at the end of the season.

He has already looked at Borussia Dortmund pair Julian Weigl and Christian Pulisic, and has now turned his attention to Napoli hooding midfielder Jorginho. The Brazilian scored in Napoli’s 4-2 Champions League defeat to Manchester City with Pep Guardiola describing him as a ‘wonderful’ player,

The midfielder has scored three goals and provided three assists in his 18 appearances this season.

Napoli are the surprise package in Serie A this season, currently sitting four points clear of Juventus, although the reigning champions currently have one game in hand.
