Manchester City entertain Inter Milan in Manchester on Wednesday night, in what is a repeat of the 2023 Champions League final.
This week could have huge ramifications for both teams, as City play Arsenal on the weekend whilst Inter compete in the Milan derby. With that tricky schedule in mind, Pep Guardiola and Simone Inzaghi may choose to tweak their respective starting lineups.
Erling Haaland will be looking to translate his unbelievable Premier League form into the Champions League and extend on the 41 goals he has already scored in the competition.
Manchester City vs Inter – Match Preview
Form
Manchester City: DWWWW
City have resumed usual business under Pep Guardiola and have looked unstoppable so far this season. Erling Haaland is projected to break every scoring record possible and his goal return of nine goals in four games is reaching unprecedented levels.
Brentford, Chelsea, West Ham and Ipswich Town have all suffered the wrath of the Norwegian, with the 24-year-old’s goals helping his side to a perfect start.

Arguably the most impressive aspect of their form is the fact they have missed some key players. Rodri still hasn’t started a game this campaign after his Euro 2024 exploits and John Stones and Kyle Walker are yet to regain full fitness.
Inter Milan: DWWD
Simone Inzaghi’s team have begun their Serie A title defence undefeated, but still sit two points behind Udinese who occupy the top spot.
At the San Siro, Inter comfortably conquered Lecce and Atalanta, with the Nerazzurri keeping clean sheets in both matches.
But their away from will be a slight cause for concern ahead of their trip to the Etihad, as Genoa and Monza both prevented Inter from claiming all three points.
Former AC Milan striker Junior Messias made amends for a missed penalty to score a 95th minute equaliser for Genoa, whilst full-back Denzel Dumfries tapped home to salvage a draw for Inter away at Monza.
Last Meeting: Manchester City 1-0 Inter, Champions League, 10th June 2024
The last encounter between these two will live long in the memory of City fans, as they reached the precipice of European football by lifting the Champions League for the first time.
Rodri netted the decisive goal with a finish executed with poise and composure, as he stroked the ball past Andre Onana.

Ederson was the hero for Guardiola’s men as he denied Romelu Lukaku in the dying embers with a save that was worthy of winning any game, let alone a Champions League final.
