Manchester City have signed Australia international midfielder Daniel Arzani from Melbourne City for an undisclosed fee.
The 19-year-old has been monitored by a number of clubs this summer, following a splendid World Cup performance in Russia.
Arzani’s appearance for Australia made him the youngest player to feature for the Socceroos in a World Cup.
Melbourne City are part of the City Football Group, whose primary club is Manchester City. Essentially, this means that City are the parent club to Melbourne City, which is why the deal to sign Arzani was so smooth.

Arzani is expected to be shipped out on loan to Celtic once he arrives in England.
The same happened with Aaron Mooy when he joined Manchester City (also from Melbourne City); he was loaned out to Huddersfield Town six days after signing with the Cityzens. Mooy made the permanent switch to Huddersfield for £8m in 2017.
