Manchester City injury news ahead of Bournemouth clash

Pep Guardiola has said Manchester City’s current injury list is the worst he has encountered in his nine seasons with the club.

The Citizens saw Manuel Akanji and Savinho added to a lengthening list of absentees during the 2-1 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur in the League Cup on Wednesday.

Savinho was stretchered off in North London, leading Guardiola to declare this the worst crisis of his reign at the Etihad.

The champions travel to face Bournemouth in the Premier League this weekend and Guardiola has admitted he has just ’13 outfield players’ available for selection.

“We are 13 players,” he said at a press conference this week.

“We are in real difficulty but we have to make the effort. The guys who played, most finished with problems and we will see how they recover.

“I think when we are in trouble like we are — because in nine years, I’ve never in this situation had this many injuries for this many reasons — in these situations, the players make a step forward. They are more together than ever.”

Which players are available for Manchester City this weekend?

After Akanji and Savinho were added to an injury list that includes Rodri, Kevin De Bruyne and Jack Grealish among others, City now have just 13 outfield first-team players available for selection at Bournemouth.

The Citizens moved top of the Premier League table last weekend but take on the Cherries at the Vitality Stadium with their squad severely stretched.

Defenders: Nathan Ake, Ruben Dias, Josko Gvardiol, Rico Lewis, John Stones, Josh Wilson-Esbrand

Midfielders: Phil Foden, Ilkay Gundogan, Mateo Kovacic, James McAtee, Matheus Nunes, Bernardo Silva

Forwards: Erling Haaland
