Man Utd told that transfer target is 'not for sale'

Manchester United have been forced to give up their pursuit of Eric Dier.

The Europa League winners had made the England international one of their top transfer targets this summer and have been linked with making a big money move.

Original reports have suggested that United were willing to pay around £40m for the versatile midfielder, while recent reports have suggested that they have made a £60m bid.

However, according to the Daily Mirror, United have been forced to pull out of any deal having been told by Tottenham that he is not for sale at any price.

The player, who grew up supporting the Red Devil’s, was apparently keen on the move, where he could have expected to double his current £70,000-a-week wages.

United will now have to turn their attentions elsewhere with Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic also having been heavily linked. Chelsea however are also unwilling to do business with United, and would prefer the Serbian to move to Italian champions Juventus.
