Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has told his Old Trafford bosses that he wants to sign Harry Kane rather than Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo has been linked with a world record move away from Real Madrid after claims he has avoided millions of Euros of tax, with Man Utd one of the frontrunners with the bookmakers to re-sign the four times Balon d’Or winner.
However, according to the Sunday Mirror, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is believed to not be interested in bring his fellow Portuguese back to Old Trafford. He would much rather the club splash the cash on bringing Tottenham striker Harry Kane to club.
Kane has won the Premier Leagues golden boot award for the last two seasons after scoring 25 and 29 goals respectively, a feat made even more impressive considering the length of time the England striker has spent on the sidelines last season.
Tottenham are believed to not be interested in letting their star striker leave the club, but with United willing to spend a world record £100m, Daniel Levy could be tempted to cash in.
United would also be financially interesting to Kane, who currently earns around £100,000-a-week. United would be able to at least double or triple the strikers current salary, something he surely wouldn’t turn down.
Manchester United are looking to add at least one striker to their squad, with Alvaro Morata linked with a £60m move to Old Trafford. They have also been linked to Andrea Belotti and Romelu Lukaku, both of who would cost in excess of £80m.
