Manchester United are set to make a move for Bayern Munich’s Arturo Vidal according to reports in Chile.
United’s midfield has dominated plenty of column inches in recent weeks, but it doesn’t seem like that is about to change. Whether it be Paul Pogba’s form, Marouane Fellaini’s contract or indeed the potential new faces within it, everyone is talking about it.
The Red Devils have been linked with a number of midfielders, including Toni Kroos, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Jean Michel Seri and Jorginho to name but a few, and now we can add Arturo Vidal to that list.
Chilean publication La Cuarta claim that the Premier League side are ready to make a $60 million (£42.6m) bid for the Bayern Munich midfielder.
It is of course not the first time that United have been linked with having an interest in signing Vidal, having also being linked with the tough tackler when he was at Juventus.
Despite still being a key player for the Bavarian side, the imminent arrival of Leon Goretzka and Bayern’s interest in Liverpool’s Emre Can could see the 30-year-old be allowed to leave.
Vidal has just one year remaining on his current contract with the Bundesliga leaders, and could finally test choose to test himself in England, with Chelsea also having been linked.
While he could be the crucial player to help get the most out of Paul Pogba, he could also help fellow Chilean Alexis Sanchez to finally settle into life at Old Trafford after a disappointing campaign start at his new club.
