Manchester United will challenge Real Madrid this summer in the battle to sign Neymar according to reports today.
The Worlds most expensive player only made the £198 million move to the French capital last summer in a deal which changed the transfer market forever. However less than 12 months on, he has been widely tipped to be in the move again, with Champions League finalists Real Madrid set to swoop.
But according to the Sunday Mirror, Manchester United are ready to challenge Los Blancos for his signature this summer, and would be willing to splash the cash in order to land him.
The 26-year-old would cost in excess of £200 million, but the report claims that United have made it clear they will pay a world-record fee to bring him to Old Trafford, as well as matching his £30m-a-year wages.
While Real Madrid are the front runners, Manchester United’s hope that Neymar Santos senior can have an affect on any potential deal. He is known to be a United fan and would of course love his son to play for the club one day.
Neymar has had numerous fallouts with manager Unai Emery and, although he is leaving at the end of the month, it hasn’t changed the Brazilian’s desir toe end his spell in Ligue 1 after just one year.
