With speculation surrounding the future of Paul Pogba and his future at the club, Manchester United have made fresh contact with Jean Michel Seri according to reports today.
There are growing reports of discontent between Jose Mourinho and the £89 million midfielder after a series of disappointing performances. He has been left out of three of the last five starting lineups, with United losing the two games that he has started in that time.
Pogba has reportedly demanded to be played on the left of a midfield three, leaving Mourinho to stamp his authority and telling players that they must earn the trust of the manager, not the other way round.
With speculation suggesting the midfielder could even leave the Old Trafford club at the end of the season, The Mirror claims that Manchester United have stepped up their pursuit of Jean Michel Seri.
The Nice midfielder has been on United’s radar for a number of months and is seen as the complete central midfielder with an all-round game, adept at attacking and defending, which Mourinho demands of all his players, and is equipped with an impressive passing range.
The Ivory Coast international was thought to be close to securing a move to Barcelona last summer, but the Catalan’s decided to pursue a move for former Spurs flop Paulinho instead.
Should United make a move for the 26-year-old, it would be a fairly simple and very affordable deal to complete, considering his £35 million release clause and his desire to move to a bigger club.
