Manchester United are increasingly likely to sell Jadon Sancho in the near future, but the Premier League club are seeking a massive transfer fee – which may turn off potential suitors.
The winger has not featured for the Red Devils since the 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest in August, when he came off the bench with over half an hour remaining in the game.
Sancho was left out of the matchday squad for the following game against Arsenal due to his performance levels in training, according to Erik ten Hag.
The 23-year-old took exception to the manager’s comments, claiming on social media that he was being scapegoated. He has since deleted the post but not apologised for it, and has been training away from the first team.
The report adds that clubs in the Saudi Pro League were “made aware” of Sancho’s availability in the summer window, but the player had no interest in moving to Saudi Arabia.
It’s claimed that Man United placed a £65 million price tag on Sancho, who the club bought for £72m from Borussia Dortmund in 2021, although a loan deal “may now be viable too”.
Barcelona, Dortmund and Juventus have been linked with the player, but Sancho’s £10.4m salary (or £200,000 a week) would be considered prohibitive.
