Man Utd legend tips Real Madrid to beat Liverpool

Manchester United legend and current Wales manager Ryan Giggs believes that this weekend’s Champions League final will be an extremely close affair, but is tipping Real Madrid to just have the edge.

Giggs has already revealed that he will be cheering on the reigning European champions, led by Welsh star Gareth Bale, to beat United’s greatest rivals, but he has now said that he believes that the Spanish side’s recent success in the competition will give them the advantage.

“I think probably just Real Madrid are favourites,” Wales boss Giggs told Sky Sports.

“Purely because of recent history, the players that they’ve got.

“I think Liverpool, a lot of their success this year in the Champions League, has come from being at Anfield.

“But, Liverpool also have got history in the Champions League, in the European Cup.

“So really it’s a 50-50 game.

“If I had to say, then probably Real Madrid, just because of their experience and the players that they’ve got they’re slight favourites.”

Giggs of course knows all about winning the European cup, winning the famous trophy twice in his illustrious career that spanned well over 20 years at the very highest level.
