Manchester United have joined Liverpool and Arsenal in the race to sign Bundesliga ace Leon Goretzka.
The Germany international is out of contract in the summer and has been touted by a number of Premier League clubs, who would be able to sign him on a free transfer next summer.
Arsenal and Liverpool have been most strongly linked, but according to Sky Sports today, Manchester United have joined the race to sign the 22-year-old.
The midfielder is seen as one of Germany’s big stars of the future, and has already scored 6 goals in his 12 international appearances, all which have been scored in this calendar year.
He grabbed his highest ever goal tally for Schalke last season, striking five times, but has already scored four goals this season in just 10 appearances as his influence continues to grow.
He has rejected the Bundesliga club’s offers of a new deal, prompting a scramble for his signature amongst Premier League clubs. He will of course be able to sign a pre contract agreement from January onwards, ahead of a move next summer.
