As Jose Mourinho looks to find a long term left back, his attentions have been turned north of the border according to reports.
United have been struggling to find a proper replacement for Patrice Evra since the Frenchman departed in 2014, with Daley Blind, Matteo Darmian, Luke Shaw and Ashley Young all being afforded the opportunity to play in that position.
While Ashley Young seems like the current first choice left-back, the 33-year-old is only a short term option, with United looking at a number of long term solutions.
Luke Shaw was thought to be the long term United left back having joined the club from Southampton for £30 million, but a serious leg break in 2015 and two years of subsequent poor form has seen him pushed ever closer to the Old Trafford exit door.
United have been linked with the likes of Alex Sandro and Danny Rose in recent months, but reports today suggest that they are interested in Celtic ace Kieran Tierney.
The Daily Mirror claim that United are ‘stepping up’ their pursuit of the youngster who is rated at £25 million by the Scottish Champions, who Mourinho sees as more versatile and better value for money than his other left-back targets.
