It’s one of the great rivalries of English football, Manchester United and Arsenal. There have been many players that crossed the divide between two of the countries most successful clubs, and reports today suggest that United are looking at two Gunners players.
The last movers were of course Alexis Sanchez and Henrikh Mkhitaryan who traded places back in January, with Danny Welbeck and Robin van Persie famously transferring in 2014 and 2012 respectively.
However according to the Daily Star, Manchester United are eyeing up a potential move for Gunners midfielder Aaron Ramsey.
In typical Arsenal fashion, midfielder has just one year to run on his contract at the Emirates, with the 27-year-old recently admitting that his contract situation was not a priority for him. He has recently slipped down the pecking order in midfield and is now thought to be considering whether its the right time to end his 10 year stay at the club.
He has recently been linked with a potential move to Chelsea, but the report claims that United boss Jose Mourinho is a big admirer of the Welshman and sees him a potential option in order get his mis firing team functioning again.
Meanwhile, reports have also claimed that United have made enquiries regarding the availability of Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin.
The Spaniard has been linked with a move to Juventus in the last few months, but it is now thought that United have thrown their name into the mix should he become available.
Antonio Valencia is the clubs first choice right-back, but even the 32-year-old – who has been acting as the captain this season – could not avoid the wrath of Mourinho following the recent victory over Brighton.
