Man United squad don’t rate Lukaku as world class

Speculation about disharmony within the Manchester United dressing room has been growing in recent days after the club’s embarrassing exit from the Champions League at the hands of Sevilla on Tuesday.

Despite scoring 23 goals for United since his £75 million move from Everton last summer, several members of Jose Mourinho’s squad are reportedly questioning whether Romelu Lukaku is a good enough striker to fire the club back to the levels of success they enjoyed under Sir Alex Ferguson.

According to Chris Wheeler of the Daily Mail senior members of the Red Devils dressing room have serious doubts about whether the Belgium international is the type of world class striker the club needs to regain the Premier League title.

As we reported earlier, United’s overly cautious display against Sevilla has also lead to senior board members of the club questioning the ability of Mourinho to challenge for domestic and European glory.

The Old Trafford club face Chris Hughton’s Brighton at home in the qaurter-final of the FA Cup this weekend in what is their last chance of winning silverware this season.
