Manchester United are set to offer Marcus Rashford a new contract that will make the forward the club’s highest-paid player.
Rashford’s current contract is set to expire next summer and the Red Devils have been locked in negotiations with the England international over a long-term extension.
The 25-year-old produced the best football of his career to score 30 goals in all competitions in 2022/23 and is set to be rewarded with a new deal that will see Rashford surpass David de Gea as the best-paid player at Old Trafford.
Rashford is understood to have agreed a deal worth around £375,000-a-week and Fabrizio Romano has reported that negotiations are into the final stages ahead of an official announcement.
The news will come as a welcome boost to Erik ten Hag after Rashford’s role in an encouraging first season for the Dutch manager at Old Trafford.
Rashford was named as the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year and as Manchester United Players’ Player of the Year at the club’s end-of-season awards.
