Manchester United and Manchester City transfer target Fred, has reportedly already decided which of the two Premier League clubs he will join next summer.

According to reports in The Mirror today, the Brazil international’s former coach at Shakhtar Donetsk, Mircea Lucescu revealed the players destination when he said:

“Shakhtar Donetsk’s best player is Fred in the centre of midfield. He was a bit anarchic on the left. I moved him in front of the defence.

“He will go to City like Fernandinho before him.”

Fred began his career at Brazilian side Internacional before moving to Ukrainian giants Shakhtar in 2013 for £12 million.

Despite taking time to settle into life in Eastern Europe, and adapting to a positional switch from the left of midfield to the centre, the 25-year has blossomed into one of Europes most sought after defensive midfield operators.

He has been capped by Brazil six times and is tipped to be included in his countries squad for the World Cup in Russia next summer, after putting in a host of impressive displays both domestically and in the Champions League this season.

Both Manchester clubs are eager to add midfield reinforcements to their squad, and each club was heavily linked with a move for Fred during the January window, although it now seems that City are in pole position to secure his services come next summer.
