Manchester United have agreed to let young striker James Wilson move to Championship side Sheffield United on loan until the end of the season.
The 22-year-old burst onto the scene in 2014 when caretaker boss Ryan Giggs handed the then 18-year-old his senior debut, and the talented youngster repaid the faith shown in him by scoring two goals in a 3-1 win over Hull City.
Wilson was predicted to achieve big things at Old Trafford, but a loss of form and a serious knee injury last season when out on loan at Derby County have hampered his progress.
United manager does not consider the former England U21 international ready to play a role in his plans, and has agreed to allow the youngster to gain some valuable first-team experience with Chris Wilder’s promotion chasing side.
