Manchester City star Leroy Sane is still keen to quit the club and join Bayern Munich.
The Germany international has been a long term target for the Bundesliga champions and was strongly linked with a move to the club throughout the summer transfer window, though a move failed to materialise after Sane was ruled out for several months with an ACL injury.
Bayern are still believed to consider the winger amongst their top transfer targets, and according to Bild, Sane has informed the Premier League champions of his desire to leave the club and return to his homeland.
Sane is currently continuing his rehabilitation as he works his way back to full fitness, though the 23-year-old is believed to be eyeing a potential switch to the Allianz Arena in the January transfer window.
The winger is not expected to return to action until February at the earliest, and it remains to be seen whether Bayern would be prepared to invest in significantly in an injured player or wait until Sane has completed his recovery.
Despite having publicly declared their interest in the player during the summer, the Bavarian giants have suggested the price-tag may make a move difficult with Man City likely to demand in excess of £120m for a player signed from Schalke for £37m three-and-a-half years ago.
During his time at the Etihad Sane has won two Premier League titles and a domestic treble last season, whilst he was also named as the PFA Young Player of the Year in 2017/18 and has scored 39 goals in 134 appearances in all competitions.
