Manchester City are to offer Leroy Sane a new contract to ward off any potential suitors for the German.
The youngster still has three-and-a-half years left on his current deal at the Etihad but is one of the least paid players with his £60,000-a-week.
It took a while for Sane to settle in at Manchester City, scoring just five goals in 26 Premier League appearances last season. However he has certainly found his feet during this campaign, and has already exceeded last season’s goal scoring feat, scoring six goals in just 13 league games.
According to a close source to The Sun newspaper, Man City are set to give him a 33% pay rise, taking his salary to £80,000-a-week.
“Leroy will be rewarded for his performances with a new deal next summer.
“He has to bide his time for now as he is behind De Bruyne, Silva and Fernandinho in terms of what the club want to address.
“He is one of the lowest-paid in the team, but will get a nice bump up to start matching the others.
“The club want him to concentrate on his football for now and then it will be spoken about once we get towards the end of the season.”
The winger made a £37m move from Schalke last summer, and there have been some speculation that Bayern Munich are monitoring the wingers progress, with Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery approaching the latter stages of their careers.
