City are not expected to sign a replacement, with Lewis, Kyle Walker and Sergio Gomez the recognised full-back options in Guardiola’s squad. Nathan Ake and Aymerica Laporte have also deputised at left-back on occasion.

Cancelo signed for City from Juventus in 2019 and has made 154 appearances for the club in all competitions. The 28-year-old has won two Premier League titles and has been included in the PFA Team of the Year in each of the last two campaigns.

“Bayern is a great club, one of the best in the world,” Cancelo said on the move, as per the BBC. “I know this team lives for titles.”
