Riyad Mahrez still wants to leave Leicester City this summer despite a transfer not looking any closer.

The an submitted a transfer request at the end of last season and has been linked with moves to Arsenal and Roma. However, with just six days until the Premier League season gets underway, Mahrez remains a Leicester City.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, Mahrez has expressed his continued desire to leave.

“I know Roma came in, but nothing was accepted so there is little I can do. They are a great club who I would like to talk to but I can’t until Leicester accept a deal.

“Leicester know my thoughts, but I will continue to give my best for the club as I always have.

“Clearly, it is flattering whenever you get linked with any big clubs, but as it stands, I have not talked to anyone as nobody has had a bid accepted but we nearly have a month left of the transfer window so we will see what happens.”

Roma have had a bid in the region of £32m rejected for the winger who only signed a new contract last summer. Arsenal are also still interested but are yet to make a move as they favour Monaco midfielder, Thomas Lemar.
