Riyad Mahrez is set to complete his long-awaited move to Manchester City later this week, according to reports.
The Leicester City star has been a huge hit since moving to England in 2014, and was an influential figure for the Foxes as they achieved the most unlikely of Premier League title wins in 2015/16.
Ever since then, he has been linked to pretty much every other top six side in the EPL, with Arsenal strongly linked with his signature last summer.
However the closest he has come to leaving was back in January, when he submitted a transfer request in order to try force a move to Manchester City. Pep Guardiola made a number of bids for the Algerian, but were unwilling match Leicester’s £95m valuation.
According to a number of sources, he is now expected to undergo a medical in the coming days, with the club’s thought to have agreed a deal worth around £60m – significantly less than was being discussed six months ago.
The majority of Leicester’s squad reported back for pre-season training on Monday, but Mahrez and his Algeria team-mate Islam Slimani are not due back until next week having played in an international friendly on June 7.
Mahrez scored 13 goals in 41 appearances last season for the Foxes.
