Leicester City enjoyed a relatively comfortable 2-0 win over a poor Newcastle United in the North East, today.
Claude Puel’s Foxes were by far the better team, inflicting a fourth straight home defeat on Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle. England international and scorer of Leicester’s second goal, Harry Maguire, was speaking very positively about his young teammate, James Maddison:
“We came here with a game plan and we were comfortable after we got the first goal, we limited them to shots from distance. James Maddison takes all the set plays now so we look dangerous.”
Maguire feels that the sky may well be the limit for Maddison, who Leicester signed from Norwich during the summer.
“He’s definitely good enough to play for England, it’s a matter of time. If he keeps improving he’ll get the call and he will take the challenge on.”
Still only 21, James Maddison is sure to have the world at his feet if he can continue displaying the kind of form he has shown in his first couple of months at Leicester.
